Mid November

The ‘Angles & Aspects’ exhibition is now underway in the Round Tower at the Black Swan Arts in Frome. There is a variety of work starting from an early age to the present. One artist I met when staying with my grandma was Jean de la Fontinelle who kindly gave me 4 caran d’ache oil pastels with which I did my first abstract. I kept them for a long time!  I think he must have quite an influence as I do remember watching him work and being quite awe-struck.

The collection includes college projects from the Graphic Design degree course at Canterbury College of Art I attended, some dolls’ house furniture made and sold in East Sheen, painted pots from 20 years ago, dachshund brooches,  plus many paintings, prints, cards and household accessories.

The Open Evening on Friday 18th at 6pm will feature a talk by poet Rosie Jackson and short films by Alan Campbell showing Annette Burkitt and myself producing art in response to a poem. All welcome and should be fun!
