March

During February I spent time helping to prepare for the Frome Open Art Trail, and there are now 71 artists ready to show their work in 29 venues in and around Frome. The event takes place during the Frome Festival in July, and the brochures are planned for the start of May. Meanwhile maps to do, copy from the Team, advertisers and sponsors, proofs to be sent and agreed by the artists. Also, ads to do for the event itself in publications for June & July, plus images going out on social media. I am part of an enthusiastic hard-working team behind the scenes for the Frome Open Art Trail.

Alongside the work for FOAT, I have been concentrating on the commission of the Heritage Painting of Cranmore, which I plan to finish by Easter. A few posts of the work so far have gone out via Instagram and Facebook etc, and I have been asked to do a house portrait for a friend in Frome. So along with a commission for a painting of White Sheet Hill I will be busy for a few months.

Sadly, the WELDMAR Art Fair in April has been cancelled due to the concern over Corvid19, though the last Black Swan Guild exhibition, Making Marks, is still scheduled for the first three weeks of May in the Round Tower of the Black Swan Arts Centre.

Meanwhile, I have been asked to run a workshop in April for the Silton Art Group near Mere, messing about with palette knives and acrylics which will be fun!
