Half-way through June already! The garden is looking lush with new growth, many wonderful blossoms, with constant weeding and pruning to be done. The roof of my studio-in-the-garden is covered with sedum, which turned dark red in the hot weather, and is now changing to green with the recent downpours. The birds (and squirrel) love walking about on it – presumably finding insects and seeds and for the view.
The Frome Open Art Trail has kept me busy with contacting advertisers. I have designed and ordered a banner to go outside the Town Hall, and made sure the website is up-to-date. There are a number of facebook pages advertising small groups of artists who will be on the Trail, including the Frome Open Art at No 60 featuring the artists who were going to exhibit in my house. I had hoped to be joined by that Emma Chapman, potter, Alexander Brown, painter, Lila Streether, painter and Will Gould, painter and maker of small garden structures.

In between times I worked on a design for a tapestry – the first time I have painted on to a canvas! The tapestry is quite small at 11″ square for a chair cushion, to be stitched by my mother aged 93. She is very excited by the design and has already finished the fox!
